#MIWeekend – April 7-9: Science and Bunnies

While this is a busy holiday weekend for many, there are still many special events happening around Michigan. In East Lansing, the Michigan State University Science Festival continues, which includes walking tours of MSU for people interested in botany and archaeology, lectures about nuclear science, distillery tours and more. At the Detroit Zoo, kids can enjoy the Easter season by visiting Bunnyvillle and taking part in the Easter egg hunt. Whatever you choose to do, we hope you and your family have a great Easter weekend.

The rest of the week, save some time on your calendar to meet with our state representatives at a coffee hour or town hall. We’re continuing our “This Is Your House” town hall series throughout the state, which gives you an opportunity to speak your mind about what you see going on in Michigan. We need to hear from you.   • Town [delete extra space]Hall with House Democratic Floor Leader Rep. Christine Greig at the Farmington Hills City Hall, 31555 W. 11 Mile Road in Farmington Hills, with sign‐in and hospitality open from 10‐10:30 a.m. and the town hall taking place from 10:30 a.m.‐noon

Monday, April 17

  • Budget Bootcamp Town Hall with Rep. Jon Hoadley at 7 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Library- Van Deusen Room, 315 S. Rose St. in Kalamazoo
  • Listening Tour Town Hall with Rep. Jewell Jones at 7 p.m. at the Maplewood Community Center, 31735 Maplewood St. in Garden City
  • Coffee Hour with Rep. Henry Yanez from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Tim Hortons, 29030 Van Dyke Ave. in Warren
  • Town hall with Rep. Winnie Brinks from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Blandford Nature Center on 1715 Hillburn Ave. NW in Grand Rapids with special guests Rachel Hood, the former executive director of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council, and Paul Haan, the executive director of Health Homes Coalition of West Michigan
  • Coffee Hour with Rep. Jeremy Moss from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Southfield Public Library Auditorium, 26300 Evergreen Road in Southfield

Thursday, April 20

  • Happy hour with Rep. Kevin Hertel from 5:30-7 p.m. at Pat O’Brien’s Tavern, 22385 E. 10 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores
